"Whenever and however you intend to give birth, your experience will impact your emotions, your mind, your body and your spirit for the rest of your life." ~Ina May Gaskin
Doula Services
A doula provides special support that is tailored to your specific needs. I will provide resources and help you prepare your birth plan and make informed decisions throughout your pregnancy and postpartum experiences. Having a doula to support your entire family and household can create a peaceful environment and a stronger connection.
During Pregnancy:
I can help you navigate through your choices during pregnancy. I am here for emotional and educational support. I can also help with errands, laundry, cooking, taking care of your older children, and anything else. This is a great service for women on bed rest or for those who just need someone to help them prepare for birth and a newborn. This even includes any doctor appointment or trips to the store. During our appointments we will discuss your expectations for your birth, nutrition, stages of labor, positions for labor, interventions, relaxation techniques, comfort measures for labor, planning for postpartum recovery, and newborn care. We will discuss your hopes and wishes, any concerns you have and I will teach you some coping techniques and strategies. We will go over comfort measures and what to expect during your labor, after the birth and newborn care. These can be in person or virtual meetings. I can also help you create your baby gift registry or set up a baby shower or sacred mother blessing ceremony. |
Postpartum:
During the postpartum period I can provide evidence based information for perineal healing, cesarean healing, breastfeeding support, emotional and physical recovery from birth, infant feeding, mother-baby bonding, basic newborn care, and someone to process your birth with. I am trained to know the signs of postpartum depression and can provide the appropriate resources. I can provide information on learning baby's personality or cues, or how to use cloth diapers or babywearing techniques. I have resources to help you understand your baby and form a strong connection and bond. The entire family can benefit from support once a new baby arrives. I can help everyone adjust by doing light chores and helping siblings adjust. I can also care for older siblings while mom and baby are connecting or feeding. During the postpartum time I can be available during the day or at night and can help with lots of things from adjusting to life with a new baby to helping out with running errands.

Initial FREE consultation
This is an opportunity for you to get to know me and for me to get to know you and your partner and family. It's important for you and your partner to connect with your doula and this meeting is an opportunity to find out if I am the best fit for your family.

We will work out a predetermined schedule that is subject to availability and mutually agreeable hours.
Cost: $20/hr during the day & $25/hr overnight
A $100 retainer will be required and will be applied to your last 3-4 hours of service.
You will have unlimited support by phone or email and access to my lending libraries and pregnancy related classes.
